It is hard for folks who live outside the "socialist paradise" of Sandwell to comprehend just how cynical Labour are in their running of their tinpot dictatorship of four decades. And local folk don't seem that bothered either as a small percentage keep voting year on year for continuing failure.
Exhibit 1 M'lud: Londonderry Lane Playing Fields
Sandwell - aka Sadwell - is blessed with two green areas that enjoy political favour - Sandwell Valley and Warley Woods. The rest of the Borough is largely an urban sh*thole riddled with polluted ground and poisonous air for your kids to "enjoy". Labour are now in a headlong race to sell-off any green space not in the Valley or Woods to get the money to prop up its dire regime and perpetuate the deprivation of 40+ years. Hence, for example, the bent deal deal to try to destroy Lion Farm Fields in Oldbury.
Over the years the comrades have devised a "plan" "lol" that each of the rotten Borough's six towns should have identical "facilities" regardless of economic or other rational arguments. The sports-mad "socialists" wanted a nice shiny new and heavily-subsidised Leisure Centre in each town regardless of need, alternative private provision and cost to the taxpayer. It was the dream of the former wife-beater and Sandwell "leader", the late Darren Cooper, that Smethwick should get a leisure centre at all costs but that seemed to have been put on hold with his death. But then the Commonwealth Games jokers came along and sprinkled what they perceive to be some stardust in the eyes of the moronic councillors and suddenly the race was on to find a site for a swimming pool. And because the rubbishy Games have to be on a fixed date in 2022 the comrades urgently need a nice "clean" site so that the builders can start destruction asap. What better place than Londonderry Fields? OK it's green space partially in trust for local people. It has (or had) trees and grass and a wild meadow and football pitches used by the Warley League (who are also threatened with losing Lion Farm Fields). The fields are a green lung hemmed in by housing and narrow roads - so ideal for a venue designed to generate MORE traffic, congestion and pollution in the area!!!
There are brownfield sites all across the Borough but most are heavily polluted and requiring much remedial work. Hammerson have just announced that they are pulling out of the scheme to build a large shopping centre at The Junction in Oldbury which would seemingly be an excellent site (if this huge some of money is to be p*ssed up the wall) as it is right by Sandwell and Dudley Station. But Smethwick must have a "leisure centre"!
And the Labour sheep are desperate for some "glory" and a "legacy" when the Borough is at or near the bottom of every deprivation league table going. That old canard "it will put Sandwell on the map" is being waddled out (and as the games will be - and already are - being heavily marketed with OUR money as the BIRMINGHAM games, this is absurd). The Labour morons said the cost would be just £15m. That doubled to £30m immediately and has doubled again to £60m! Labour say (and you folk trust them "lol") that most of the money will come from the Games organisers, Sport England, the Government etc (ie us taxpayers) but there is talk currently of the cost TO SANDWELL being £27 million!!! Two swimming pools will close and be replaced by one. This should free up other sites for redevelopment and cut maintenance costs etc but Sandwell will end up paying through the nose for this ghastly vanity project!
And many of you will have had letters like this drop through your letterbox recently - Cllr Eling (as was) has forced yet another Council Tax hike through yet again but the money for this crap has to be raised somehow!
And once the lovely green space is gone, it is gone for ever.......
Of course, there are laws etc designed to protect local people when this sort of b*llocks is proposed. But Sandwell Labour are, literally, a law unto themselves. They work on the basis that no-one has got any money to sue to them and so they can f*ck you prats who live there over any time they like. Once the political decision was made by Labour to destroy Londonderry the usual tactics were applied.
As it is the Council's own project to destroy green space they had to "consult" with folk. There WAS extensive consultation with, er, local swimming clubs. Hardly surprisingly, they were all for it! Jan Britton, the head of Sandwell's bent paid service, then said that all nearby residents had been consulted by letter which came as a shock to local residents as the vast majority had received NOTHING!
A local group was set up to protect the Fields (Facebook - Save Londonderry Lane Playing Fields) but it is like trying to push water up hill as bent Labour are determined to force this through. Groups really need to learn lessons from all this. People are - voluntarily - working really hard on top of their day jobs and often facing unpleasantness but certain elementary errors are still being made. There is a knee-jerk reaction to sign a petition but when it comes to planning - and as we shall see - these are useless. I have warned against this on this blog - eg when Cllr Liam Preece shafted local residents in respect of advertising hoardings at Ray Hall Lane by encouraging locals to sign a petition instead of making proper planning objections (see further below). I have warned other organisations/groups but many are simply not listening....
Despite the fact that bent Sandwell want to plonk a large public building on a green space in a residential area the Council's new "Regeneration" supremo, Amy Harhoff, has written a letter saying that NO environmental impact assessment is necessary! This is absurd and another example of the comrades just p*ssing over local people on the basis that no-one has the money to take this to a judicial review.
The planning application is being forced through at Mach 10 but even that is not quick enough for this corrupt Council and so Midland Forestry Limited recently appeared on site before planning permission has been granted and chopped down 22 healthy trees (they have not answered my email about this wanton destruction so if you want to try them for an explanation the email address is enquiries@midlandforestry.co.uk)! The meadow has also been mowed into extinction. With regard to the trees in this rigged process Cllr Linda Horton confirmed that this was done urgently to prevent delays in the building process by, er, nesting birds!

I attended the planning meeting on 13th March where the campaign group's Keith Price ably went in to bat to stop this farce. As an objector he was allowed 5 minutes only. (The speakers for the Games group were allowed two speakers to promote the white elephant).
It is always difficult to know with the comrades whether those purporting to be against a scheme are showboating to give the whole rubber-stamping exercise a veneer of legality. Cllr Jackie Taylor blathered on for a few minutes on a point that was hard to detect but did - unless this was fixed beforehand - vote against the scheme. The most arrogant man in Sandwell (even WORSE than the Squealer) Cllr Bob "Seig Heil" Piper did validly ask about an air quality assessment and a Council apparatchik confirmed that SMBC had simply decided not to bother to do one! Piper and the Planning Committee thought that one should be done both in respect of the Games use of the building and the later use as a leisure centre! With that agreed Piper was happy to vote for the crazed plan.
The committee were simply told of the 240-strong petition from local residents but this was then ignored. It was pointed out that there were only EIGHT letters of objection for this pile of crap!
At risk of the moral Cowards in Blue deliberately twisting my words, here are the comrades voting. These people need to be POLITICALLY destroyed by all legal means for this vandalism as soon as possible (although the Party itself is culling some of the sheep):

After the meeting Piper took to social media to deride local people and jibe that the campaign had only led to 8 objections despite over 1,000 letters allegedly having been sent out (totally ignoring the petition). The official line from the Council appears to be that it doesn't matter if the fields are destroyed because the comrades have got grants to tart up West Smethwick Park! If it were true (!) that the land is of no value to local people then it could have been commercially marketed and sold but he and his chums want to wreck it instead and waste huge sums on this dump.
THIS MATTER IS NOW DUE TO GO BEFORE THE FULL COUNCIL ON TUESDAY 9TH APRIL AT 6PM. IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT IN SANDWELL, POISONOUS AIR QUALITY AND THE EVER INCREASING DESTRUCTION OF REMAINING GREEN SPACES PLEASE TURN UP FROM 5PM ONWARDS AND MAKE YOUR VIEWS KNOWN OUTSIDE THE OLDBURY COUNCIL HOUSE.
Just think - in a few years time your children and grandchildren may see pictures on the Fields and other green spaces in Sandwell and ask you what YOU did to try and save these precious places. Please don't let your answer be "Me? I did f*ck all"!
2 M'lud - Wednesbury Sleeper Factory
Slightly different from the above but a similar disregard for local residents even though London-resident Tom Watson "MP" and Labour Cabinet members Cllrs Simon "The Sandwell Slasher" Hackett and Dave "Menage a Deux" Hosell are pretending to be opposing another rotten scheme. As ever, Watson is not to be trusted as another of his employees and puppet councillors Paul "The Cipher" Moore is pushing FOR the project.
In short, Network Rail and associates want to build a huge factory on the Bescot Rail sidings. This is right next to the motorway (opposite the Walsall ground) where air quality is terrible (although bent Sandwell Council have suggested - apparently without irony - that the prevailing winds mean that most of the sh*t is blown across into Walsall and f*ck them!)
The factory is intended to make huge quantities of concrete railway sleepers and Network Rail and Co keep claiming that much of the stuff will be transported by rail which does rather beg the question why they are talking about large numbers of, er, lorries visiting the site on a daily basis????
Recently members of the campaign group showed me around (follow them on Facebook at "People of Wednesbury Say No to Network Rail"). The original plan was to put in an access road to the south-east of the site across heavily polluted former industrial land. The bent Council gave a lease for this land under "delegated" authority (which according to the Council's constitution is for decisions up to £100,000). The corrupt paid service said the consideration for the lease is £1 therefore within the delegated authority BUT there is an option in the agreement for Network Rail etc to BUY the land for £125,000 ie seemingly outwith the delegated power. The campaigners have repeatedly asked Jan Britton (the head of the bent paid service) who gave this authority but he is refusing to say (I have also been refused a reply).
The new plan is to put the access road from the North-East. Quite how this is going to work with Tame Bridge Station in the way is a moot point. The traffic is also absolutely horrendous in this area and so the prospect of hundreds of lorries thundering around too is mind-boggling.
An interesting point made by the campaigners is that there are some of these factories in Germany BUT the Germans don't allow them anywhere near housing! Make sure you ask Watson, Hackett and Hosell about that!
The planning application is going in soon. The group are very sensibly arranging their own postal system in local shops so that folk can put in their own individual objections AND the group can deliver them so that a tally is kept and the corrupt Council cannot "lose" any of them. Before that, however, Network Rail are holding two days of consultation at Walsall Football Club. Please attend if humanly possible and let Network Rail know your robust views:
