Sandwell Labour's "meet the crim"

Over the years, The Skidder has exposed the lies (and worse) of the series of scumbags Labour made "Mayor" of Sandwell. This culminated - in the last year before they were booted out - with Labour putting two fingers up to local people and, once again, smearing the mayoral robes with excrement by appointing the thick, chocolate-soldier, liar and criminal, Melia.

Melia purports to be a champion of the armed forces, but is a pathetic coward. Who can forget him filling his pants at his standards hearing, and asking if he could hide from public view under the overhang in the Kremlin's Council Chamber (Skidder's passim and pictures).

Despite his appalling track record and behaviour Reform - yes, Reform - decided to spit in the face of the public and made Melia an Alderman of the Borough! Reform's out of his depth "Leader", Ray Nock, actually nominated him. WTF? If ever there was a sign that Reform are NOT going to, er, reform bent Sandwell Council, this was it. And where Gauleiter Ray leads, the sheepish Reform councillors follow - seemingly without question.

(Nock may be a buffoon, but he has been subjected to an appalling personal attack from a board member of one of Sandwell's leading pro-Labour charities. Not on.)

At least there was one Labour Councillor who was happy with having a malleable moron like Melia as Mayor - step forward "Mr Controversy" Cllr Rizwan Jalil (Skidders passim). Regular readers will know that Jalil was accused of trying to suborn the Chair of the Licensing Committee (during the end of the Labour Dictatorship), Jag Singh. It was Singh, himself, who contemporaneously complained to the now-departed Monitoring Officer, the hapless Michael Jones, but in a later standards investigation someone called James McLaughlin didn't believe Singh, and gave a judgment hitherto unknown in English Law of "not proven" - letting Jalil off the hook. (Despite the absurdity of his investigation and report*, James McLaughlin is now claiming to be the Reform Council's, Assistant Chief Executive. As ever in Sadders you just couldn't make it up!) Oh, and Labour also rubbed Singh's nose in it by again selecting Jalil for his seat, and the morons of Oldbury actually re-elected him!

A staff member alerted The Skidder to Jalil's penchant for taking what the staff member called "business acquaintances" to see the lying, crim, Mayor Melia. Upon investigation Jalil took five visitors to meet the robed halfwit. Sandwell Council refuses to identify the individuals involved but here is the list:

1 Melia takes tea with Jalil and "a community activist from overseas" who has allegedly done much work for the poor and disadvantaged in his home country. Jalil thought this would, er, strengthen the ties between Sandwell and "global community leaders".

2 A person, possibly a new Pakistani Consul, was brought in to see the enchained imbecile given "the strong and vibrant Pakistani community in Sandwell". Jalil asked that the very highly-paid Chief Exec, Shokat Lal, should also attend to present the guest with a plaque.

3 Jalil demanded 30 minutes with a man incapable of uttering a coherent sentence for someone "working closely with faith communities in Sandwell". Jalil also asked for the guest to be given a Certificate from the Mayor in recognition of "his valuable work".

4 Melia met with the founder of an unnamed Smethwick organisation at Jalil's request. The guest was apparently also doing marvellous community work. So marvellous apparently that this all has to be kept secret from the public "lol".

5 Jalil brought in "an independent businessman" who has served the local community for 20 years "in the mobile phone industry". Apart from making money Mr X is another community hero and Jalil asked Melia to also present him with the Borough coat of arms - "the dog turd rampant" - or a similar civic recognition.

Thus it seems that none of these events - with the possible exception of the last - was to further the obscure business interests of Jalil, and was simply selfless altruism to recognise the unsung - and, indeed, unidentified - community activism of others. Bent Labour was notorious for cronyism, but nothing to see here ...

Labour: The Rajbir Singh mystery #Part 2

Keir Starmer holds himself out as a paragon of virtue. Now that he has time on his hands maybe he will come clean about what he knew about the sudden defenestration of a Labour Council Leader [sic], Rajbir Singh, since the rumours keep involving Downing Street.

Rajbir Singh (aka "The Boy Blunder") is now the Reform Councillor for Bartley Green on Birmingham City Council and yet Labour have taken no steps to shaft him. The silence is deafening.

At the time of the first post, members of the Sandwell Sikh community kept telling The Skidder to look at interactions between Singh and Imogen Walker - now a Scottish Labour MP (pictured). We saw in the first post that Singh was instrumental in appointing Walker to a specially-created post so that the taxpayer was able to improve her financial status. Walker is publicly named as the wife of Morgan McSweeney, Starmer's former Chief of Staff.

The word from local Sikhs is that Singh's defenestration at Sandwell Council was the result of an interaction between him and Walker and which was sanctioned at the highest level within Downing Street. A further allegation is that Sandwell Council paid for Singh and pathetic liar, former Sandwell Labour Councillor, Iqbal Singh Padda, to travel to Scotland to meet Walker. Further, a member of staff at Sandwell Council alleged that the expenses claim was still extant on the Council's records.

The Skidder contacted Singh (yet again) but he had again declined to comment. We also wrote to Walker MP whether she received a visit in Scotland from Singh but she too has failed to reply.

We wrote to the liar, Padda, and he too has not responded although given his track record his testimony may have been worthless.

A Freedom of Information request (and an application for an Internal Review) to Sandwell Council - which has an appalling record for the corrupt concealment of documents (see several Information Tribunal hearings) - has drawn a blank too. Despite the whistleblower's claim the Council categorically denies still holding a copy of the expenses claim.

It's time for Starmer and McSweeney to confirm what actually happened. And until Singh himself fesses up Reform itself and all opposing parties need to keep asking him for an explanation.
