Exclusive - Jan Britton's Downfall!

The mystery of Jan Britton's departure from bent Labour Sandwell Council is now resolved (and that of Cllr Syeda Khatun's sudden resignation from her Cabinet role). This blog campaigned for the grovelling Chief Executive [sic] to be thrown out from 2014 onwards but it took until the summer of 2019 for the axe to fall - and he left with only his contractual compensation ie. with NO pay-off from OUR cash!

The Skidder was informed that even the corrupt Labour Council had reported Britton to West Midlands Police (WMP), the employers of his son "lol", concerning his collusion with other employees on the evidence submitted to WMP in their failed criminal prosecution of me (see blogs passim on the C*cksucker trial and legal notice below). Most right-thinking people would surely have thought this, in itself, was cause for major concern but it transpires that the pathetic rimmer's demise was down to his love for Cllr Simon "The Sandwell Slasher" Hackett!

This blog has shown (posts passim ad nauseum) that Hackett breached the confidentiality of a child way back in 2016 (incredibly, this story is STILL ongoing!) This was also a significant data breach. As the Monitoring Officer at the time, Melanie Dudley (then Assistant Chief Executive) undertook a standards investigation and found Hackett "guilty". But the penalty she offerred him was just a morning's retraining on these issues. She was under the impression he agreed to this and was shocked when Eling (and, allegedly, Tom Watson) intervened. Hackett's behaviour has costed - and is costing - YOU huge sums of money when Labour boast that after nearly half a century of corruption and incompetence local kids are starving on the streets.

Eling and Britton told Melanie Dudley (a statutory officer) to alter her report. She bravely refused and was forced out with a colossal payoff from taxpayers - you and me. As soon as she was out of the door a new "investigation" started (and the role of a Council Solicitor in all this merits further attention). Further "evidence" was suddenly forthcoming and a "data protection report" produced. It is of considerable public interest that Melanie's original report was altered to "exonerate" Hackett. The two new witnesses - months after the event - were Labour Leader [sic] Steve "Squealing" Eling and Deputy, Syeda Khatun.

Melanie's original report read:

"In concluding the allegation against Cllr Hackett we have determined that the evidence ... shows that there is a breach of the Code of Conduct in that a member must not disclose any information given to them as a member in breach of any confidence."

Just days after Melanie formally left, a new Report appeared. Spot the difference:

"Having now re-considered the original evidence gathered during the standards investigation in light of the new evidence gathered during the Data Protection investigation, we cannot be satisfied on the balance of probabilities that Councillor Hackett breached the duty of confidentiality set out in the Code of Conduct for members."

Just in case you mistakenly think there was a genuine "re-investigation" into this affair you should note that Hackett's victims brought a separate legal action and the bent Labour Council have admitted liability! (And see further below.)

All this has been known since 2016 and yet another investigation into this sordid Labour affair is underway though mysteriously taking many months (and costing yet further large amounts of public funds). The word on the street is that the investigation will be pulled after the May elections if the Labour rebels win back control in the bitter civil war currently destroying the local party. The delay is said to be intended to let Hackett off the hook again (though the seperate court case has already been conceded).

Now here's the rub - a very senior figure says that in 2019, David Stevens the smiling assassin, produced an email dating from 2016. I have not seen the email but it is from Jan Britton to Stuart Taylor. The senior figure says that Eling and Khatun were copied in by Britton. Taylor was told that Eling and Khatun were to be asked one question only and were not to be interviewed. This was deemed by SMBC to be a very obvious attempt - with the knowledge of Eling and Khatun - to rig the so-called "investigation". SMBC took legal advice and that was the end of Britton. He did not contest the damning evidence. By this time, Eling himself had gone (kicking and screaming) and shortly afterwards Megan Archer of the Express and Star quoted the bent Council saying that Syeda Khatun had left too:

"Circumstances have arisen which mean that Cllr Syeda Khatun needs to take time out from her role as deputy leader due to unforeseen personal reasons."

We hear a lot about Hackett's "balls" but Khatun was another - apparently willing - victim of his pathetic cowardice. But at least she paid the price losing her Cabinet position while Hackett laughs at us all.

I wrote to Britton for his comments on 1st March, 2021:

"Dear Mr Britton,

Your downfall at SMBC

THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATION - PRESS ENQUIRY

May I explain why I am writing to you via your employer. I recently wrote to you on another matter at your xxxxxxx address but you did not reply. I understand that xxxxxxxxxxxxx. I sent an email to your employer asking you to contact me but you haven’t.

You of all people have spent years trying to deliberately stymie my journalism. But I received a bollocking from a High Court judge for not giving some individuals the right to comment in advance on stories I am writing. Thus I am writing to you now even though you are a xxxx and xxxxxxxx. Should you fail to respond I will take it that you will not respond to any matter I am asking you about and proceed without any reference to you in the future. I shall show this letter to any Court should you later seek to make an issue of anything I have written about you.

Turning to the matter in hand I have not seen the original email but I have seen xxxxxxxxx presented as evidence to a firm of Solicitors and have no reason to doubt the veracity of it. The evidence is that in relation to the reinstated Standards Investigation into Cllr Simon Hackett, you emailed Stuart Taylor saying that he was to ask Cllrs Eling and Khatun one question. They would reply in the negative and that he was not to question them further.

Further, this email led directly to your disgrace and downfall in that it was discovered and was rightly perceived to be a direct and unlawful attempt by you to intimidate a member of staff and to rig the outcome of the investigation.

You were immediately placed on gardening leave and the rest is history. You are invited to comment on all this and to give your side of the story.

Obviously you didn’t expect to get caught but you might like to add why you were prepared to risk your career [sic] for the benefit of Hackett?

Yours faithfully,"

(At this time, I had only seen a document about all this but I have since obtained further evidence from "Person X".)

David Stevens, now Chief Executive himself, gained greatly from bringing down Britton although I am sure he only acted in the best interests of the people of Sandwell. But mystery surrounds when he first became aware of the "smoking gun" email, how he got it, and how long he held it before blowing the xxx xxx Parkie's head off!

Of course, in the wonderful world of local government something called "The Publica Group" decided they needed a biddable failure as their new Chief Executive and so Britton now lords it over three or four small councils in the Cotswolds/Gloucestershire area. He has had those councils block me on Twitter, obviously worried that his employers will see the full horror of his dismal history at Sadders. But the truth is finally coming out ...

Meanwhile the snivelling wretch Hackett - now apparently a Governor of a school and Sandwell College - recently boasted on Twitter:

"I understand about confidentiality"!
