Amended 27/06/18 - THE HUMAN CHAIN EVENT IS TONIGHT!!!!!
Before I start on the latest Lion Farm news can I remind you of TONIGHT'S event - which is important not just to Lion Farm folk but for all those who want to stand up to Sandwell corruption and to protect the local environment with its toxic and murderous air quality and dire traffic congestion. Oldbury is the second worst of the six towns for green space and the bent Labour Council want to get rid of another huge chunk.
Please give up just 10 minutes of your time to join the human chain at 6.30pm opposite the Post Office on Newbury Lane. At 6.30 we will join hands in a show of solidarity. Wear your England or other footie colours if you like. Meet other folk and have some fun on what should be a lovely summer's evening. We will take some photos and disperse in good time to get home for the footie!
At the public meeting the other week I spoke about the mystery surrounding the property developer not registering a restriction to protect his dodgy deal.
In 2012 (then) Cllr Hussain introduced the developer, Jeremy Knight Adams to the bent Labour Council. Meanwhile Knight Adams bought a property in Dudley off Hussain's son for nearly half a million pounds (Hussain's son had paid £85,000 for it a few years before.) Cllrs Hussain and Hackett then agreed in a matter of minutes to grant Knight Adams an option on this gigantic piece of land without marketing it or offering it to anyone else. The Cabinet (including Cllr's Eling and Moore) backed the "deal" as did the full Council. The legal department of Sandwell Council - which we now know to have been tainted with corruption - gave the developer his option in early 2013 and, so it would seem, secretly extended it annually thereafter.
As I said at the meeting - it was very unusual for an experienced property developer not to register the option at the Land Registry.
In 2017 the good folk at Cradley Heathens speedway took an interest in the site and received encouragement for some Labour Councillors (including Eling) even though they had already done a deal on the land (see recent post - only one Labour Councillor has so far replied why they were stringing the speedway people along.)
Now here's a funny thing. The speedway were talking with the Council and enquired about listing Lion Farm as an asset of community value. Just before we move on this is the definition of such a beast from Localism Act 2011:
"88(1) .....a building or other land in a local authority's area IS land of community value if in the opinion of the authority:
(a) an actual current use of the building or other land.....furthers the social well-being or social interest of the local community: and
(b) it is realistic to think that there can be ...use of the building or other land which will further (whether or not in the same way) the social well-being or social social interest of the local community."
You would think that Lion Farm Fields were "nailed on" as an asset of community value......
The speedway were talking with the "Senior Property Officer" in Jan Britton's bent paid service, one Kerry Jones (though no wrongdoing on her part is implied at the present time.) On 25th July, 2017 she sent the speedway the nomination forms. Now at this point the ONLY people on earth who knew about the proposed application were the speedway and Sandwell Council (ie whoever Kerry had spoken to about this.) Yet just three days later at 12.23pm on 28th July, 2017 Jeremy Knight Adams's solicitors applied to HM Land Registry to register the option when they had not bothered to do so for over FOUR YEARS!
Now that is one hell of a coincidence or someone in SMBC tipped Knight Adams off. Where's your money on that one folks?
Further suspicion arises in that either the developers solicitors or SMBC are lying about the registration as shown in the following Freedom of Information Request:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/lion_farm_fields_registered_titl#incoming-1178749
The developers solicitors made a legal certification that SMBC consented to registration of the restriction but SMBC say they have no records of this. Again I know where my money is in the pork pie stakes here!
Unbelievably SMBC then turned down the application for asset of community value status simply saying that the definition (as set out above) did not apply to Lion Farm - no other reason given! (Of course it is an old trick of the corrupt Council to lie and obfuscate on the basis that no-one has got the cash to take them to court and they can get away with fraud and corrupt practice.) The Save Lion Farm Fields campaign is giving urgent consideration whether the original application can be re-instated or whether a fresh application should be made (any lawyers out there who can help - please contact via the details below - and I can put you in contact with the relevant parties.)
This all stinks again and I am once again sending this post to West Midlands Police and to the Minister for Local Government etc....
Hope to see you tomorrow at 6.30pm. Night, night!
