Lion Farm - Fury at More Lies!

As if the corruption and lying around the bent Lion Farm deal are not enough already, the Labour Council are STILL at it despite the demise of former "leader" Steve "Squealing" Eling. We may have hoped that with him - and the likes of Moore and Gavan - out of the picture the comrades would see sense but they continue to arse-lick Tory donor Jeremy Knight-Adams who is seeking to make millions from the development of this vital green space.

The Warley League and teams using the Lion Farm pitches are incensed at the recent report in the craven local mainstream media written by Eling-rimmer and Labour supporting local "journalist" George Makin (also a massive pal of Cllr Bob "Seig Heil" Piper.) Without ANY questioning or investigation George and the papers who publish his output quoted from a Sandwell Council report on playing pitches where the skint "socialists" are claiming that they will supply new "3G artificial pitches" around the Borough. Quite where the money will come from is unstated - with good reason as a multi-million pound sum of YOUR money is already being p*ssed up the wall to build the ridiculous Commonwealth Games paddling pool (which, itself, is leading to the destruction of another two grass football fields in Sandwell.)

As ever the comrades are also completely ignoring what the Warley League keep telling them. Lion Farm is integrative to the whole operation of the League. It provides the focal point for everything the League does. Many teams play at the same venue each week rather than being spread out all over the Borough and this facilitates the whole operation by allowing team and League officials to work together on a weekly basis and keep the show on the road. There can be absolutely no doubt that if Labour kicks football off the Fields the Warley League will struggle to survive.

Fees are already high to play on Council pitches - imagine the cost for 3G pitches (plus the cost of maintenance)! What's the point of having pitches if there are no teams who can regularly afford to use them?

And don't forget this is not all about footie. Lion Farm is a giant green lung in a part of the Borough with one of the statistically poorest amount of green space available to folk who live there. There will have to be changes - maybe via a Trust taking over this land - once Tory Boy is f*cked-off and some imaginative and exciting new uses found for the community to make the most of it but this land belongs to the people - not a rich old bloke living in luxury on the side of the Malven Hills.

The League are particularly aggrieved at Labour's misinformation machine whirring into action yet again. George helpfully assisted Labour's plan to destroy the Fields by quoting them claiming Sandwell pitches are waterlogged and the changing facilities prone to vandalism. Well that may be the case elsewhere but it is NOT the case for Lion Farm. League spokesperson Pete Lowe told The Skidder that there has been  just one single break-in of the facilities at Lion Farm. The two pitches at the Newbury Lane end of the Fields do have a water-logging problem and so are used just at the beginning and end of each season but the other pitches further down are excellent for this level of competition - a view endorsed, says Pete, by the Birmingham League referees and the fact that very few matches have been cancelled in recent times for weather related reasons.

If you are going to shaft Sandwell people Labour - at least don't lie to them too!

Just a mention whilst on this subject of "the elephant in the room" - the already horrendous traffic in the area of The Fields (and associated air quality issues) which Labour want to exacerbate by trying to force this bent scheme through. Recently there was a 5-a-side tournament on the Fields and there was complete traffic chaos! The Skidder was inundated (unlike the pitches "lol") with calls and messages about this. Imagine what the situation will be like if Labour dumps a huge and unwanted shopping centre on there!

And also a quick mention of the supermarket issue. The local press have consistently parroted the  Labour claim that the developer is planning a "designer shopping village" for Lion Farm despite the obvious improbability of this site being suitable for such a scheme. It now transpires that Knight  Adams included a large supermarket on the "back of an envelope" scheme Eling and cronies "approved". How "top-end" is that FFS? Tory Boy/Pensioner has form for working with Sainsbury's.
At present, Aldi, Tesco and Asda have stated in writing that they have no plans to open a store at Lion Farm. I am still awaiting other responses but - note - Sainsbury's have declined to respond - watch this space!

And finally - is the party over before it's begun?

Before Dave "I Trusted Eling" Hosell "lol" was humiliated at the local elections in May he was caught by the excellent Skwawkbox website telling folk that (then) Labour Councillor Caroline "Caz" White would be "coming over to him". This does NOT appear to have been a Freudian slip by married Hosell who refers to Caz as his "girlfriend".

Caz was booted out/resigned from the Labour Party (depending on who you listen to) but claimed to be setting up a new Party with some total non-entity called Cllr "Bill Cherrington" (also formerly of the Labour persuasion.) In a recent post I showed that the malevolent Eling was communicating with Caz about the new organisation - a matter I forwarded to Labour Party HQ.

But here is a page from the Sandwell Council website where The Dave Party (officially called the United Sandwell - "US "lol" - Party) are shown as an official political organisation:

But, as of 5 minutes ago, no such "Party" has been registered with the Electoral Commission:

More anon about bummed-out Britton but clearly the current Acting Chief Executive, David Stevens, needs to have the website amended to show Caz'n'Bill as "independents" until they can prove a genuine Party affiliation! The people are being mislead!
