LONDONDERRY FIELDS
Tomorrow night Councillors will be asked to approve the destruction of the Fields for the new swimming pool which apparently couldn't be built on a brownfield site instead! This project is farcical and is going to cost Sandwell folk to boot (have you just had another whopping Labour council tax increase letter?) Labour originally said the pool wouldn't cost Sandwell voters anything (although the money will come from taxpayers at large). But the figure now being bandied about it that this pool will cost locals a mere £27m!!!
There will be a demo at 17.15 at Oldbury. It is important that folk who care about green spaces all over Sandwell come along together with those who are being poisoned daily by poor air quality in the Borough after 40+ years of Labour and want action. The sleazy comrades are desperate for money to pay for the pool and other vanity projects and are selling off every scrap of land they can. You have to make it plain to them that this is not on anymore! (Here is a picture of a local pool):
One imagines all the Green Party candidates for the May elections will be there tomorrow night. I know some will and it will also be an opportunity to meet and chat with some people opposing this Labour madness. There IS a choice you know!
Mind you, the "Curse of Londonderry" is beginning to take its toll! The moronic Labour Group leapt at the chance to spend millions of pounds of your money so that they could cut the big for a week in 2022 but Eling, the "architect" of the scheme, is currently up sh*t creek without a paddle. I also reported recently on the Labour Councillors who voted for the destruction of the Fields and now TWO have already been deselected by the Labour Party "lol"!
Yes - farewell and good riddance Joy Edis and Keith Davies! Two down - eight to go (and voters in Charlemont and Grove can deliver the coup de grace to Elizabeth Giles on 2nd May too!)
LION FARM LATEST
At the well-attended public meeting about Labour's bent plan to destroy 19ha of green space at Lion Farm I speculated that the Council may have acted unlawfully in 2012/2013 in giving a sole prospective purchaser an option on the Fields. Last year Eling (and Moore) tried to polish this turd by giving it a thin veneer of legality. I speculated at the meeting that the corrupt Labour Council may have bound themselves by the original bent contract so that it was going to cost them a lot of dosh to get out of it. But Eling seemingly decided to try and bluster his way through with this instead of doing the decent thing - hence the ludicrous Audit Committee "show" (where Jan Britton's staff "accidentally forgot" to switch the video recorder on!)
It looks like this may be the truth. A Labour Councillor told me last week that there is an element within the Labour Group who want to take a look at this and see if Eling's handiwork can be undone. S/he specifically said "it may depend on how much it is going to cost us to get out of this".
And then Cabinet "member" Dave Hosell (see further below) let the cat out of the bag on Twitter. I mentioned that he was in the Cabinet last year when it tried to give retrospective legality to the bent deal and this exchange ensued:

Cllr Yvonne Davies is standing in Langley for Labour. In my conversations with her she has, hitherto, sat of the fence and refused to condemn the possible destruction of The Fields. She had to take some time out due to illness but has also completely failed to force disclosure of ANY key documents out of her own Labour Council - most notably the original option.
Tuesday is a chance to try and speak with Yvonne and the other Langley Councillors (Sharon Davies and the "Coward of the County" Bill "Alka Seltzer"* Gavan) as they go into the meeting and also a chance for the Lion Farm protesters to continue to show disgust at Labour's bent deal. Solidarity should be shown with the Londonderry Group and all others working so hard to help save patches of land across Sandwell. Please also come along if you can.
Bescot Sleeper Factory Campaign
This group are the environmental stormtroopers in Sandwell at the moment running a brilliant campaign. Whilst they are not fighting to protect a green space as such (although trees etc have already been cut down as part of this daft scheme) they are alive to the potential pollution from the site - both chemical and noise pollution (and they have raised serious issues concerning contaminated land too). They are switched on to the air quality situation (already poor after 40+ years of Labour paralysis on this issue) and to traffic issues (also highly relevant in respect of Londonderry and Lion Farm). I hope some of their Group can attend tomorrow to show solidarity with the other groups and to highlight that these Labour plans to harm the local environment are Borough-wide and affect everyone (the poisonous air is particularly deleterious to the children of the six towns).
Unlike Mr Durnell's bluster about putting up an independent candidate against Labour in Langley the Bescot Campaign have only gone and done it! Wayne Trinder is standing against three other candidates (available of SMBC's website) in Friar Park Ward providing a brilliant opportunity for local folk to shake off the Labour yoke!
Stephen "Squealing" Eling
Eling became Leader is what looked like a rigged election and set about trying to destroy or neutralise his enemies. He was suspended by the Labour Party in January and, in a bizarre "own goal" incident, bullying Tom Watson MP intervened in his recent disciplinary hearing at the Party's NEC so that it couldn't be heard! Thus was gone any chance of his standing in the May elections and Sandwell looks to have finally rid itself of the miserable scumbag who recently complained to West Midlands Police about the Justice 4 The 21 Campaign group (whose relatives were murdered by Jeremy Corbyn's beloved IRA).
Tuesday night is the last Council meeting Eling can attend as a Councillor. Given the damage he has done for so many years as "the money-man" you would think he would stay away but this arrogant grunt will no doubt attend to try and cause some more political mayhem amongst the rapidly dwindling band of his moronic supporters.
I am sure any protesters present (if he does not sneek in around the back as he did recently) will wish to give him a rousing send-off!
(The Eling dictatorship was dominated by his paranoia - a Council shrouded in secrecy and a cadre of bent employees apparently prepared to do his bidding. Dave and Shirley Hosell
In a recent post I mentioned how Squealing Eling didn't rate Dave Hosell but put him in the Cabinet "lol" to ensure he and Shirley switched to the Milkman's round. Dave fell for it but he and Shirl have been deselected by Labour and have left the Party to stand as Independents in May. (Dave is legendary for his independent member anyway.....)
They have been apoplectic about the deselection. Dave has been lashing out on Twitter, as has his very close friend Cllr Caroline White, and has even been claiming what a great job he has done! And then there is the serious loss of income - Dave'n'Shirl rake in the usual large Labour "special responsibility payments" on top of their normal allowances so that at the end of the 2018 municipal year they scored a stonking £42,262.08 of our cash for the year between them!
When Dave started rimming the Eling arse he (at best) said nothing at the infamous Labour Group meeting when the aforementioned Yvonne Davies was hounded out for, er, telling the comrades the truth about Eling's lickspittle, Richard Marshall. I asked him on Twitter whether he had ever had the balls to apologise to Yvonne. Instead of recognising his own conduct in this vile incident of bullying he launched an astonishing personal attack on Yvonne (Dave is only semi-literate and I think he means "loud" rather than "lid" here):
What a lovely guy! It's a good job he has left Labour voluntarily otherwise he would be joining his beloved Squealer on the suspension bench!
So if you like real AND social media bullies who verbally abuse women Dave's yer man in Newton Ward! (There are five other candidates - see the SMBC website).
REMEMBER FOLKS - if you haven't registered to vote you need to do so by Friday 12th April! You CAN make a change, There are alternatives to the Dictatorship.
LABOUR MP's BLOCK BREXIT (AGAIN)
Why anyone would vote for Labour in Sandwell is a mystery after over 40 years of dismal failure but there is real anger being shown on social media about the three Labour MP's blocking Brexit against the will of local voters. You may wish to send Labour a "message" on 2nd May! Don't get mad - get even!
