Jan Britton and David Stevens, the disgraced former Chief Executives at bent Labour Sandwell Council, went to extraordinary lengths to close down this blog and that included spying on staff in the hope they could expose some of the brave employees who have disclosed some of the corruption at SMBC to me.
It has been known for years that staff have been ordered to spy on me, collate my social media output and maintain a dossier of all my blog posts. But now we know the names of two people organising all this for Britton, and the willing tool they used to trawl through staff email accounts.
Inevitably, one of the organisers of the covert searches was Surjit Tour, bent Sandwell's highly controversial Monitoring Officer (and a qualified Solicitor). The other prime mover in searches made in 2018 was Sue Knowles in Human Resources [sic] and she stated in writing that all staff emails were to be monitored if addressed to me and a fortnightly report submitted to Jan Britton. Knowles also ordered searches in respect of two other names apparently believed to be connected to me. Tour wanted to go much further, realising that staff sending me messages were unlikely to use their work email to send them to me. He and the Spy worked on the assumption, however, that staff might send information via email to personal or other email accounts for onward transmission. Tour wanted ALL external emails monitored from members of the "executive team", or relating to "Staff Communication", or to the "Word on the Street" blog! Clearly Tour was hoping to knife some of his top "executive" colleagues in the back if he got the chance.
And the Spy Britton and this pair used was ANDY SAUNDERS who willingly agreed to start snooping on his colleagues. It seems from his LinkedIn account that this jerk left the bent Council in November, 2022.
Regular readers will know his name since he cropped up in a statement to the High Court helping Lisa McNally in her absurd attempt to cause me serious harm. Saunders - speaking through former SMBC Solicitor Julia Lynch rather than giving a statement himself - managed to claim that an email I sent to McNally might have gone into her "spam" account - although no-one was able to produce any actual evidence of this!
Mysteriously, Tour told Andy Saunders that I use "a number of aliases". What on earth does he mean? And Tour sent his pathetic Spy another unknown email address to "monitor" in addition to the Skidder's email. The Spy then produced a report showing all council comms to external addresses!
Saunders the Spy asked to discuss the matter with Tour or Knowles - presumably so that the meeting could be kept "off the record". Even this groveller realised that what he was doing was dodgy and wrote, "Clearly this is highly confidential and not to be shared!.
Many staff at Sandwell are stupid enough to pay dues to craven trade unions who have proved to be very useful tools for the corrupt Sandwell management. They may be concerned to know what the unions were doing to stop Cllrs Cooper (Deceased) and Eling using their feeble puppet Jan Britton to engage in this sort of covert activity. The answer, of course, was that some of them were actively helping management - including in illegal covert surveillance!
I have a formal complaint in with the appropriate authorities about Tour's subversion of the Subject Access Request legal system. This permits anyone to ask a data controller for information held about them. Tour knew that Sandwell held incriminating information concerning his own conduct and that of Councillors and colleagues but concealed this from me. Instead he prepared hundreds of pages in four lever arch folders of all correspondence between me and the Council - including reams of duplicate copies in "chains" of correspondence:
Tour only arranged to send me the correspondence - copies of which I already held, of course. I say this was deliberate. Later, following complaint by me, a significant number of other documents came to light which Tour had omitted from the statutory disclosure.
Bizarrely, Tour tried to cloak the incomplete disclosure in a cloak of legality by sending the files pictured above to mega-expensive London solicitors, Howard Kennedy to send on to me! (Howard Kennedy strangely sent them to my Solicitors who were NOT instructed in the SAR issue???)
Thanks to further intransigence by Kim Bromley-Derry (Interim Chief Executive and current Senior Government Commissioner!!!) a Freedom of Information request regarding the involvement of Howard Kennedy has been partially blocked by bent Sandwell although it is now obvious that Tour used them purely as a "post office" to distance himself and Sandwell from the obviously incomplete disclosure, since Howard Kennedy only charged £148 plus vat to send the files onwards (although that's YOUR money of course!)
Bromley-Derry is now telling the Information Commissioner that no further details of this totally bent transaction can be revealed because of Solicitor/Client privilege! (That matter is being disputed and may be heading to a Tribunal case). You couldn't make it up - at least if this wasn't Sandwell!
I have made a new SAR request for the missing Spy Reports which the bootlicker Andy Saunders made and which Tour should have included in the original SAR disclosure - or the further disclosure made after complaints by me. I have also sent this complaint to the new Chief Executive:
"It has come to my attention that four employees in 2018 arranged to produce a fortnightly report relating to emails sent to me or to persons they believed to be connected to me.
The persons were Jan Britton, Surjit Tour, Sue Knowles and Andy Saunders.
It is of major concern to me that Surjit Tour did not disclose these reports to me in respect of my previous SAR requests and I ask you to investigate this forthwith.
Please also take this email as a new Subject Access Request specifically for ALL the Reports produced by Andy Saunders relating to me."
Perhaps Bromley-Derry should take a look at this too, eh readers?
